“Mommy, why is the sky blue?”
Everyone thinks that the sky came first.
Not so, the clouds came first, so that God
could find the perfect color background to show off
the myriad shapes and forms of the cloud world.
Of course, the possibilities were endless but
eventually it became clear that the
cool, infinite blue that you see above was the perfect
screen on which to project the clouds floating
across the sky.
So, if you are Mommy or Daddy you can just say,
“Because a very long time ago, somebody thought that’s
what it should be.”
You could bring God into the conversation, but that would really
complicate things.
