What a word!
As in,” the ball bounced twice
before dropping into the pond”.
Yes, you can bounce a ball,
but Lebron doesn’t bounce,
he dribbles.
Which is strange since ‘dribble’
has other unpleasant meanings.
You can also bounce a check, but
it doesn’t really bounce.
And after a bad patch, when you do maybe bounce a check,
you can “bounce back”.
To what you were before?
No, you can not go back, perhaps bounce forward?
Maybe just bounce up and down,
then ‘flounce’. Another great word!
But that is for a different poem.
