We add heat to food,
Rice from inedible to the staple for half of humanity.
Eggs, a year at Cordon Bleu
just studying them.
Butter, miraculously hiding
in plain old milk.
Cheese, “milk’s leap to immortality”.
And who figured out the baked potato?
Or asparagus, for goodness’ sake.
We used to spend all our time looking for food.
Now just an hour at the grocery store and we are done.
Then we play.
