Facts

A great Senator once said,
“everyone is entitled to their own opinion,
but not their own facts.”
Jack Webb always said, “Just the facts, Ma’am,
just the facts.”
No emotion, no embellishment,
just the facts.
Maybe things were simpler in the Fifties.
But sometimes fact involves memory.
And we know how tricky memory can be.
So comes the question of verifying facts.
Did it really happen?
Who says so, they saw it.

What did they actually see?
Sometimes people make up facts to
suit whatever is going on for them.
Is there a difference between a true fact and one that
you made up to make someone feel better?

Or when does a fact become a lie?
