When does want become need?
Desire is quiet in the beginning,
but persistent,
and it grows,
attaching itself to the me.
“If I had this,
if I was this,
I would feel better, be better.”
Then it becomes the need.
Sometimes it works, for a while.
Then like the young child’s Christmas toy,
forgotten the next day.
There is always something new to want.
